Don't Give Up

Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Luke 1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord

These scriptures tell us DON” T GIVE UP!
For some of us it’s a habit or addiction that we battling.  For others, it is a disease or mental disorder.  And some of us are struggling with relationships, lack of money, family issues, work and career.

Commitment

Commitment.  These days it seems that this word is not that popular.  I hear young people tell each other: why get married, just live together.  Sometimes it is hard for us to commit to simple things but this is not God's way.  In the book of Luke 9:51 talking about Jesus, we read, "He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem."  This is a statement of courage with a firm commitment to accomplish what God had sent Jesus to do, in spite of all the scorn and hatred that would be heaped upon Him.

The Jigsaw Puzzle

Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

I am a jigsaw puzzle person.  There are no two pieces of the puzzle that are exactly the same.  There may be similar shapes but the colors are different.  There may be some pieces where the colors are the same but the shape is different.  The body of Christ is the same as these puzzles.

When you’re facing a crisis or a battle, remember what Jesus said to His disciples the night before His crucifixion: “Let not your heart be troubled” (John 14:1).

Imagine what it would have been like to be one of Jesus’ disciples at the end. They watched as He was arrested, beaten, and crucified. All of their hopes and dreams were
rooted in Him, and then He was dead and seemingly defeated.  The confusion, hurt, and pain from that alone was probably unbearable, but then came the thoughts: We have made such sacrifices, leaving family and businesses, risking it all on the belief that Jesus was the Messiah.

Happy Thanksgiving

Terry’s Cheerletter

Because we all need someone to cheer us on!

If you are on Facebook I am sure you have seen folks posting the things they are thankful for each day. I myself am doing this to help me remember what God has done for me and  to change my focus.  I think that’s great but I think we need to do this everyday. The bible is full of scriptures about thanking God and being thankful.  The two I want to look at are: Psalms 100:4 enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

Listen to God

Because everyone needs someone to cheer them on in their walk with God!

Therefore encourage one another andbuild one another up, just as you are doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
Over the years I have experienced some hilarious situationswhere miscommunication wreaked havoc.  Ihave also experienced some not-very-funny-at-all situations wheremiscommunication took place.  I am sureyou have experienced the same things in your lives.  Even when it comes to the things of God wecan “hear wrong”.

God not only loves you, He likes you too!

God loves you and He likes you too!

Matthew 18:14 "Even so it is not the will of yourFather which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

One of the greatest truths of the Bible and also one of thehardest to comprehend is that we are the objects of God's love. God didn't justpity us or feel some sense of moral obligation to save us. He saved us becauseof His infinite love for us (Jn. 3:16).

God loves people.Even when we were spiritually dead because of our sins, God's forbearance wasworking on our behalf.

Study to Word

Recently I discovered something so simple and so true in the word of God that I was stunned that I had never seen this before. It does not matter how many years you have been studying the word of God, He is going to show you something new and wonderful. His word is alive, sharp and revealing, it is rich, deep and multilayered. We know this on the surface and we are reminded in a deeper way of this fact when we discover something “new” in His word. So why aren’t we in His word all the time?

Let's Do It His Way

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.  Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Philippians 2:1-3

This is a powerful scripture for overcoming self when dealing with those at work, at home, at church and yes even at Wal-Mart!

Don't Miss Out

Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored, and you shall be clean. But Naaman was angry. - 2 Kings 5:10-11

So often we miss out on what God wants to do for us because He doesn't do it the way we think He should. We work up an idea in our minds about how He's going to heal us, deliver us, provide for us or give a blessing to us.

s stories; I thought maybe a famous preacher needed to lay hands on me.  I was waiting on God to do something spectacular.
