Let's Do It His Way

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.  Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Philippians 2:1-3
This is a powerful scripture for overcoming self when dealing with those at work, at home, at church and yes even at Wal-Mart!  If they had asked me to write this, this is how I would have put the passage.
If there is help for you in the Anointed one and His anointing, if you have received comfort and love from Him; if you have any deep on the inside affection for Him and what He has done for you then give back to Him by being full of joy, thinking like He thinks and acting like He acts.  Put others first no matter what, giving back His love to those around you. Do not do anything that will cause arguments, resentments or division.  s trap of thinking pride filled thoughts, self pitying thoughts or selfish thoughts.  Just like he suffered and died for you make your feelings and thoughts submit to Love and do for others.
s not always easy, we want what we want.  We want our way and what is rightfully ours.  When Jesus was in the garden, he prayed in Matthew 26: "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."  s way even though it may not be fair, when we act like Him instead of the way we really want to act something supernatural happens.  s hard for me to put into words; the best way I can say it is this way:  we become free of ourselves.  Oh brothers and sisters being free from me is awesome!
